I was hands-on manager until half decade ago but as team size increased I did not find time to code. Now, it's incredibly hard to pick up and do Leetcode with kids at home.
I am not trying to complain or get sympathy from strangers. Thankfully I had a some reserve from which we kept spending but I have to get a job soon.
I have applied to a few positions in last two weeks but I got nothing. I got four to five auto rejections which appears mostly triggered by ATS.
With thousands of layoffs market is brutal and probably hundreds of laid-off managers are searching.
The new advice I am hearing is to ping HM on LinkedIn or ask recruiters about it. I am not sure if this will be a good strategy to get a position for EM roles. Unfortunately, many people from my network have got laid off and referrals are running dry.
What's the best way to get noticed and get a callback from recruiter or HM?
If you have any good examples of EM resumes that worked recently with AI everywhere I will appreciate that.
