Have you switched from AWS to GCP for more startup credits?

We’re a pretty resource intense (compute + LLMs) GenAI startup and are just about to run out of AWS credits. Our infra is defined and deployed using Terraform so switching cloud provider shouldn't be a huge task.

I’m thinking of hiring a great infra consultant who I know well (so we can continue focusing on our product) to migrate us from AWS to GCP. We clearly assume the costs in terms of overhead and consultant help would be net worth it, given the generous GCP credits we can get.

Qs:

* What are your thoughts?

* Do you have any similar experience?

* Anything you wish you would have thought of?

My current company started on AWS/GCP for the credits. Right now we're on Lambda for the GPU prices and GKE for some webservers that we cba to move. We dual-upload data to s3 and gcs still (which isn't too expensive, it's effectively write-only and the auto-archive features work for us). Cloud SQL database but pgBackRest to the other cloud.

We're not HA across clouds; we decided to chase RPO over RTO.

Dedicated server is 7x cheaper. AWS and GCP credits are a trap. They only offer credits because they know you'll end up paying more later
