How do you go from thinking like a developer to thinking like a CEO?

I’ve built and launched a real SaaS product with paying customers, but I still catch myself thinking mostly like a developer — focused on features, architecture, and polish — rather than growth, sales, or strategy.

For those who’ve made this transition: how did you train yourself to think like a CEO or founder instead of a builder?

Any essays, habits, or mindset frameworks that helped you make the shift? (e.g. Paul Graham, Jason Cohen, etc.)

Well, the CEO of the company I used to work at is still in touch with me and giving me advice. I just tell him my view of the situation and he tells me what to do. I guess at some point I’ll switch from engineer mode to CEO mode (I already “feel” it a little)
