How are you doing research for consumer electronics?

In the times of extremely tiered offerings, ads in all sorts of imaginable ways, sneaky marketing (read having to look into GPU TDPs on mobile), reviews being sponsored and AI and SEO slop/glut all around, what is your trick to research for your consumer electronic needs?

Are you relying on a particular niche of reviewers still? Do reddit reviews bias your purchase or is that bad sampling?

Or have you found specific AI agents doing particularly well? Did you find prompts formulations that work better than the others? Is there a way to get the most up-to-date information regarding deals/ pricing etc?

I just find it super draining to find a product that actually fits my needs. I can't figure out what to trust and what to base my decision on, really given so many fine print details.
