I guess the advantage (to the company) is that an AI interview could be conducted in real time so it would be harder, although far from impossible, for the interviewee to cheat.
But what's the benefit to the interviewee? Purely negative as far as I can see. Added time wasted in an extra interview compared to filling out a form at pleasure, and also the dehumanizing effect of being interviewed by a computer.
If it's just basic data collection (e.g. name, email, work eligibility) then the correct answer is neither, it should be something I can fill out asynchronously, or better yet auto-filled (with review and confirmation) from my resume.
If the answer is yes, I have no problem with an AI interview.
