Should public libraries provide supervised AI-free rooms for homework?

Would this help address the issue of students using AI to cheat?

These rooms would contain computers designated solely for completing and submitting homework.

Library staff would supervise them to ensure students do not use personal devices to cheat.

Homework would only be accepted by schools if it was completed and submitted online from one of these public library rooms.

So every single student is then physically expected to go to a library to be able to complete their homework? You’d have to have computer labs in those libraries capable of handling over a thousand students for some areas. Not a very practical solution.

At this point, it’s more an acceptance that AI is here and students are going to use it. You can control for it during monitored tests, but there’s next to nothing you’ll do to stop its usage once the students go home.
