Why did AI research mature in computer science and not in biology?

I'm making a wearable with modular NPUs.

There's still lots of low hanging fruit on AI, so thanks it's not mature yet.

How is it "mature" in any field? I think it's just getting started. Prepubescent, maybe, or adolescent at best...?
