Is Silicon Valley veering to the far-right?

Is Silicon Valley veering to the far-right?

I’m beginning to see this more in terms of alignment to authority.

A “hard charging” leader who thrives in the midst of conflict inspires a certain kind of tech worker who just wants to “cut through the bullshit and get real things done.”

For those that are more group oriented, it feels like an unpredictable threat that could harshly disrupt ongoing work. The fear/anxiety loop feels toxic and unsustainable. Anyone who has been through a hard-charging environment often studiously avoids it later in their career.

I expect we will see a lot more “hard charging” environments as the AI battle in tech gets increasingly zero sum for lagging tech brands that have lost their share price.

Some of it. And more and more loudly so. But I think the majority of the Valley is still center left (primarily because of social issues).

No. People are just less afraid to speak openly then a few years ago when social media was locked down by the left.

Yes, but it’s a country-wide problem. Fascism has been entirely normalized as just one side of two relatively balanced political parties, to the point where people like Marc Andreessen can proudly come out in support of a despicable candidate like Trump.
