Would banning manual grading result in more people wanting to teach?

Automated grading can even provide personalized feedback nowadays.

Paying teachers better would result in more people wanting to teach. I have yet to hear anyone saying "oh, I really want to be a teacher, but that constant grading would drive me nuts..."

Manual grading for what? For math? For writing? I'm sure a machine can do pretty well at providing personalized feedback in some topics & areas of math education. It would probably be horrendous in others.

Education isn't a technology problem.

According to family members who teach, grading is not a fun activity. However, it's far from the top of the list of discouraging things about the job.

I'm also far from confident that automation would be any good at it, depending on the subject.

No, that's silly.
