If you can sign on with a US labor agency, or have an established US business they can easily invoice (if freelancing), that might make it easier for companies? I think there's a few SaaS middleman companies too that can handle the logistics of that for a corporation, though the names escape me right now.

It's hard for the US to hire foreigners. Companies here have different labor and tax laws by state, and hiring non US nationals typically requires jumping through extra hoops, getting work visas, etc. And the EU typically has stronger labor protections than we do, which companies might be wary of. Then there's the time zones, language and cultural issues, different holidays, different expectations about PTO and work life balance (we have less of both), etc.

TBH if a company is going to jump through all those hoops, it's usually for people from much cheaper areas than Europe :/ Especially for remote jobs, where there are tons of Americans already fighting for in a race to the bottom.

If you could consider moving here and getting a work visa, that would up your chances significantly, I think.

The “who’s hiring thread” here is good for this.

Be really good at what you do, have lots of money to support yourself, be a contractor and create a tax identity in georgia so you only pay 1% income tax and then travel around europe moving every couple months so you don't create a new tax residency so you get all the money you are paid (minus the 1% of course).
