Is self-learning front end development through freeCodeCamp reliable?

I'm a beginner in frontend development, currently only familiar with basic HTML and JavaScript. I'm looking to learn React next and considering using freeCodeCamp (https://github.com/freeCodeCamp/freeCodeCamp) as my learning resource.

Has anyone here used freeCodeCamp for learning frontend, especially React? How was your experience? Is it effective for self-learners?

I'd appreciate any insights on: 1. The quality and depth of their React curriculum 2. How well it prepares you for real-world development 3. Any alternatives you'd recommend for a beginner

Thanks in advance for your advice!

No. It's not worth it and reliable. teachyourselfcs.com

I've heard good things about frontendmasters.com.

Personally, I learned from LinkedIn Learning back when it was still Lynda, and found it very helpful.

Both are paid, but worth it.

Also, the official React docs & tutorials are also pretty good once you know some basic JS and HTML (like what the DOM is, how you manipulate the HTML, etc.)

Note that this is probably a pretty hard time to be an entry developer... the FAANGs had hundreds of thousands of layoffs over the last few years and there aren't many job openings for juniors (or even more experienced devs). You'd be competing with people with substantial industry experience. Good luck =/
