Is the SaaS trend over?


Off the back of multiple very public data breaches involving third parties, it appears that my organisation has had enough of this particular risk.

Senior management have determined that the only organisation that can be ultimately entrusted with protecting our sensitive or customer records is us. So, the posture has changed and SaaS is under the review. All of it.

Is this an emerging trend in other organisations? If so, what does it mean for startups?

I had the impression that core functionality should always be internal, and an extetnal SaaS service for the irritating, non core but necessary stuff.
