Would a restaurant naming its dishes after pathogens be good marketing?

For example, a dish containing chicken might be called the bird flu special.

Of course, the food would be at least as safe as required by law.

For the general market, no. Are you looking for extra-edgy cred, for niche market, similar to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_(cigarette) ?

No, not really. A few might pass if they are humorously or tongue-in-cheek presented, for example "Bird Flew Special" or "Potato Tuber Cool Oasis".

I wouldn't want food named after pathogens and also promise to be at the very least as safe as required by law. Your "at least" floor should be higher.

In certain cases, yeah, why not? For example, maybe at an epidemiology or food hygiene conference, or for Halloween.

But in general, no.

"as safe as required by law." seems like a low bar.

Why not aim for "tastes great and is actually safe and nutritious to eat", instead of just "meets the minimum requirements to be able to legally serve it"?
