What are the good invoicing solutions for agencies?

Hi HN! I have a simple problem: I run what is essentially a dev agency in EU that invoices clients based on either flat fees or time spent. We used to use Stripe, but it was very difficult to get time tracking calculations and sent multiple erroneous invoices.

Earlier this year we switched to Productive (https://productive.io/), which was promising but has been a disappointment. The UI is frustratingly complex and their pricing is out of whack. On top of this, the invoice generation is extremely sub-par in terms of compliance (they don't even support VAT out of the box).

I'm looking at this problem by starting from the invoicing part: We want good invoices with our bank details and possibly a way to process payments. Stripe does this well. We also want to generate them based on time spent. Productive does this well.

Is there a good, reasonably priced product that does this well? Googling leads to just SEO spam.
