Ai.com used to redirect to ChatGPT, then X.com, and now Google Gemini?

What is going on with that domain? There are plenty of articles regarding the ChatGPT to Elon Musk (x.ai) transfer, but I have been unable to find out how Google managed to get it.3 major ownership transfers in less than a year, all between competitors?

The domain ownership hasn't been updated since 2022. Someone is just changing where it redirects to. Since January it's redirected to x.ai, then https://youtu.be/NXpdyAWLDas, and now https://gemini.google.com/?hl=en.My guess is whoever the owner is is selling the redirect on a monthly basis.
