How much do you care about other people?

I'd say most people on this site are of decently high socioeconomic status. Or, at least, they have the time and knowledge to enjoy the kind of news posted on this site.

I do wonder, how much does the average user here care about the rest of the world?

I don't mean in a "I inform myself about events going on" or "I don't like people suffering" but on a more personal level.

Do you feel it's your mission, even slightly, to make the world a better place? Do you care about the suffering and poverty going on elsewhere? Beyond just "war is bad we must help ukraine" etc.

Are you just prioritizing your own happiness through money and whatnot, and improving the world comes as a byproduct? Or do you genuinely care about other people? Or maybe it's in between?

I'm not very charismatic. This could have been phrased better, but I hope the gist of it is understood.

I do what I do and how I feel about it matter. Whether I want to help other people or just care about myself, the path forward is to better my own life and do my job

We live in the world of the "I". A self-centered, sociopathic generation that doesn't care about anyone else besides themselves and their close relatives and friends. This pervasive attitude has led to a decline in empathy and community values, where individual desires and personal gain overshadow collective well-being. People are increasingly focused on their own needs, often at the expense of others, creating a society that struggles to foster genuine connections and support systems. This shift in priorities has significant implications for our social fabric, making it more challenging to address common issues and work together towards a better future.
