Is anyone else receiving lots of recruiting emails from "AI" startups?

Over the past few months I have been receiving an (alarming?) amount of emails from recruiters working with "AI" startups and I was wondering if other software engineers are seeing the same. All these companies seem to have two things in common: (i) very high base salaries and (ii) unclear products or business models. Some of them mention they are pivoting or transforming in some way, which I guess is fair for a startup, but then I don't understand how they can pay those salaries.

Just for context, I did work on CV and ML for a little bit several years ago but nothing related to the current wave of generative models - so no keywords on my resume that could be relevant for these roles.

Also, I'm quoting "AI" here because that's how these companies define themselves. None of them are doing research as far as I could tell.

I also have ML chops on my resume, but the only AI solicitations I get are from the Usual Suspects: Facebook, Amazon, Google, etc.

However, I managed to get off of the bottomfeeder recruiter lists a few years back (primarily by deleting my LinkedIn account). That may explain why I've not seen a particular uptick.

I used to get a lot of those 10 years ago. Deleted my LinkedIn.
