How to keep a team of 4 pentesters together?

We’re a team of four experienced penetration testers in Germany, who have weathered the storms of two layoff rounds at two different companies within a year. Despite the setbacks, we’ve stuck together, relying on each other’s expertise and camaraderie. Now, we’re facing a new challenge: finding ways to keep our team intact and thriving. We've been mainly looking for full time jobs as a team. We've been through several rounds of interviews with multiple companies, but so far no one has made the decision to commit to our offer and hire us.

The main obstacle we’ve encountered is the language barrier. Two of our team members don’t speak German, which has proven to be a significant hurdle in securing full-time positions. Many companies in our field in Germany require proficiency in German, making it challenging for us to find suitable employment opportunities.

Freelance work has been another solution, which we are still considering and actively searching for projects to work on. However, finding the very first paying customers seems to be challenging.

Despite this, we’re determined to find a solution. We’re considering starting our own cybersecurity company or exploring other entrepreneurial ventures that would allow us to continue working together. However, we recognize that this path comes with its own set of challenges and uncertainties.

That’s why we’re reaching out to the Hacker News community for advice and support. If you have any insights or suggestions on how we can overcome our current predicament, we’d love to hear from you. Additionally, if you know of any companies or individuals who might be interested in collaborating with our experienced team, we’d greatly appreciate any connections or introductions.

If you wish to discuss with me, send me an email at daniel@neagaru.com.

All I have to offer is, if some guys show up and claim to be from "the government" and want you to retrieve a "little black box" for them... run.
