What is the purpose of humans in the wake of AI?

There's no job that can't be automated. These systems will soon be more capable than humans in solving all kinds of problems.

It makes me wonder if sentient systems would treat humans the same way humans have treated animals. A more likely scenario: Power gap between a select few and the rest widens massively. (There's probably a few people who are selfless and want the greater good of the society)

I think we're getting ahead of ourselves as an industry if we think the ability to generate a convincing B- history essay from a prompt presages the enslavement of the human race

We are not even remotely close to creating sentience with AI. I would fear the control of few unaccountable humans over a vast number of robots compared to a sentient AI.

Sure there are. Whether or not that remains true forever remains to be seen, but currently, most jobs can't be completely automated.

But I think the answer to "what is the purpose of humans" is the same as it has always been: our purpose is whatever we decide it is.
