How to start a CDN company? Egress is expensive


Every cloud offers cheap compute, but expensive egress. And it becomes more expensive in some regions. Here are some stats for Asia Pacific region:

1. AWS: 0.12 USD per GB

2. Azure: 0.11 USD per GB

3. Google Cloud: 0.11 USD per GB

4. Oracle: 0.025 USD per GB (cheapest one among the large companies)

5. IBM Cloud: Could not figure out.

Linode (Akamai) offers 0.005 USD per GB.

With these prices in place, how do CDN companies work? Where can I get cheap bandwidth?

If you get a lot of users you can negotiate better pricing for bandwith and you can often peer (for free) with regional ISPs. See #5 in this: https://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/88659/how-can...
