Best Email Client for Mac?

I’ve settled on Spark. It’s far from perfect, and I regularly look for alternatives, but they’re all…even further from perfect.

Spark just released what I understand to be a complete rewrite. It’s completely and utterly not for me. I tried so hard to give it a shot, believing that it was just lack of familiarly. I’ve resolved that, no, it’s genuinely a half-baked, dumbed-down rewrite that very unfortunately leans quite heavily into all the AI email writing crap. Thankfully the previous version is still actively available and seems to receive updates.

Tossup between Apple Mail and Outlook - both are underwhelming. Apple Mail is feature light and Outlook locks up and crashes.

I'm about to test out Kerio's mail client for mac, since i run my own Kerio mail server.

With all the security fails that the big mail providers routinely have, I am regularly reminded of how happy I am that i've stuck with running my own mail server

Back when I only used Gmail, Sparrow was the best email client I ever used on any platform. Google bought it and shut it down. I’m still bitter and have yet to find anything that comes close.

I use Apple Mail for personal stuff and Outlook for work (because I have to).

After Sparrow, I’m hesitant to try a bunch of new clients, as I don’t want another rug pull.

I've always used Thunderbird, though that could be a case of "baby duck" syndrome.

stick to the browser. less chance of access to local data and memory related attacks. also usually now the fastest platforms in rolling out any kind of new features.

Mail.app. It's free, no ads, simple and yet featureful.
