Future of Online Education?


It seems the MOOC hype already faded. And I don’t see a lot of interest in this space recently.

What do you think is the future of online education?

Any recent innovations worth mentioning?

And most importantly, better ways to help learners to grow their knowledge?

I work for an e-learning company which is in a slow decline and want to do something with it.

We would like to share the final report from an NSF-funded workshop tasked with creating a vision for computing education for the next 15 years. The report, entitled Piecing Together the Next 15 Years of Computing Education is available from our website for the workshop: https://cerfutureworkshop.wpcomstaging.com/final-report/

We hope that the report and the questions and challenges it raises spurs discussion within the SIGCSE community and within Computer Science Departments as to how we can shape the future of our discipline.

If you are a computing education researcher, we hope that the ideas can inspire directions for future work within the discipline.
