Do Your Senior Executives Use Windows or Mac (Or Linux)?

Most startups (even big ones) I've been at have been Mac only, sometimes with an exception for a finance/business role while older companies still use Windows. What are people seeing at their companies or orgs when it comes to senior leadership and their laptops?

It varies significantly depending on the company based on my experience. At my current place, I wouldn't be surprised if Macs were the default type of computer for most staff, and even the execs probably used them as a result. At the job before that it was majority Windows PCs, for both management and developers.

And it's been that way in all of them. Some have mostly Windows PCs for everyone, some have Macs for everyone, occasionally you'll see the odd person using the other kind of machine if they're really picky/need it (lots of the time, it's the designer being the only one with a Mac in a Windows only company).

Don't think I ever saw someone use Linux as an OS outside of server management.

I never worked in a real start up so I can't compare. I don't know anyone above SVP level NOT using windows in my career. Every non-developer oriented conference I've been to, Windows are the majority.

It’s a mix where I’m at. They use whatever they are comfortable with. It was the senior executives who forced the door open for Macs, so IT had to start supporting them, which has been nice for developers.
