Website builders for non technical people?

Would you point a non technical person to Wix or another website builder?

Would you teach them HTML ? How about a ghostblog ?

HTML is not for non-technical people. The angle brackets alone are a stumbling block. I often point people to Google sites. Easy to set up a site and free. What it lacks are features and customizability, but those are the opposite of what non-technical people need. If the person is willing to pay, then I suggest SquareSpace.

Any solution that requires that something be installed or configured is not appropriate for non-technical people.

I should add that, in my experience, technical people are not well positioned to recommend solutions for non-technical people, which is why computers have not become any easier to use in 40 years. Those who regularly support or teach to non-technical people are in a much better position to understand what's appropriate.

Depends on what kind of site. Durable.ai is excellent for small biz, zipwp.com for Wordpress sites and web hosts like wix.com now have pretty usable AI builders baked in.
