CRM / Tools for Business Cards / Leads / Contact Management

Question

Just wondering if anyone is in the Sales / Marketing where they have this problem. Even my worst job in pervious years would only have ~100 clients contact, which is a lot but still (barely) manageable. Right now in my new job I have to jiggle with few hundreds of contact point and business cards and it quickly becomes and unmanageable mess.I am wondering if anyone has any recommendation on CRM or tools to manage these. Preferably where the Data I get to keep it myself / on my phone.Right now I am using good old fashion Excel Spreadsheet.I am wondering if there are any automatic scanner where I could throw a pack of Business Cards and it will scan it into an App. Most current Apps want me to take a photo one by one.

I went through this in my job where the (very) old school boss kept everything as business cards and the CRM consisted of outlook contacts with zero context on who they were and what they did.
HubSpot free has done a decent job of bringing this into the 21st century, in a sort of workable manner.
But equally interested in something self-hosted. (And have played with a couple SH ERP systems such as Odoo, but haven’t been sold on the UI)
