Do you email yourself content? Why?

What do you do with it if so?

I email myself URLs of web pages I want to read later. I have a program that periodically checks my email and takes action on emails that I send to a specific alias. Actions include extracting the article/content of the page and converting it to an mp3 for me to listen to while I exercise or drive. If it’s a YouTube URL, it uses yt-dlp to download the video for later viewing. Etc.

When I make a tricky calculation, I send an informal email to my coworkers explaiaing the unexpected parts. Six months later, when we need that result, it heelps me to remember and avoid the pitfalls.

Yes, sometimes because it is simple and it works and is asynchronous.

Then I do whatever it was I wanted to do.

Or not, because I also ignore email.

But these days I am more likely to make a draft email in gmail and save the work of managing my inbox.

Good luck.
