Dark Pattern: Google Workspace doesn't let to select a cheaper plan

I want to open a business Google Workspace[1] account for my domain. But it only let me sign up for the expensive "recommended plan" of €20.70/user/month, and there is no option to choose another plan.

I have another domain where I pay €5/user/month.

Does anyone here know, will it be possible to downgrade to a cheaper plan in the future?

If you have "Business Standard" plans or higher, can you check on the Google Workspace billing/subscriptions page, is it possible to downgrade to the "Business Starter" plan?

Also, I can't remove this domain from the admin page, and know that the only option I have left is to enter credit card information and agree to this price (with a 14 day free trial). I can cancel after that, but I'm afraid they will never let me sign up for the "Business Starter" program for that particular domain name.

I can't even enter a promo code now.

Other email providers are not an option, as I need Googe Docs/Sheets for collaboration.

Note to self: when dealing with Google always test the waters with the less important domains first.

Thanks!

I had the same issue, Google "recommended" me the $20 plan and was not allowing me to downgrade on that page. But, once you start the free trial you are able to downgrade in the admin console. I was able to do that myself.

This really is bad UX though, but nothing I wouldn't expect from Google.
