Got Cloudflare Staging 'Billing Email Changed' Alert – You Too?


I'm curious if I am the only one, or if any other HN readers have also received an email from Cloudflare stating that their billing account email has changed.

DKIM, DMARC, SPF, etc., all pass, so the email seems legitimate. I'm not sure why their staging environment is sending out real emails to customers.

Title: [STAGING Cloudflare] Billing Account Email Changed

From: noreply@notify.cloudflare.com

  Hello,
  
  You will no longer receive Cloudflare billing 
  notifications to this email address because your 
  Cloudflare account billing email has been updated.
  
  Log in to view and modify your billing email address on 
  file. Please allow up to 15 minutes for the billing email 
  to update on the dashboard.

Folks that were affected should receive an email along the lines of:

On 02/14 you may have received up to 2 emails from Cloudflare's test environment that were sent in error. You can disregard it. CF already implemented measures to avoid these types of errors in the future.

I have several sites using Cloudflare, nothing from them yet (I checked Spam too). Just as a security precaution, have you double checked your actual billing email on your dashboard?

Anyways, looks like that one Starbucks incident where someone (probably an intern again) sent out

  Test1 from seank
to all (most?) mobile app users.
