Was most of the AI Cloud growth from Microsoft fake?


Was most of the growth from Microsoft Cloud their own startup funding coming back to them (i.e. roundtripping) and juicing their numbers to make it look better than it was? It's like they disguised spending as revenue growth.

I don't think so.

It's all about market share at the moment, while competition is increasing ( eg. Bard).

They also need more usage, to get companies to pay for the benefits later on ( pushing for adoption)

A lot of big companies are currently in a pilot for having AI across Microsoft's portfolio.

Those subscriptions will become more expensive, once they have sufficient metrics / improvements.

Some innovations happen at scale too. So I think costs will actually go down.
