Folks who are/were "overemployed" – how did it work out?

During the hiring boom I remember hearing tons about people who knowingly accepted multiple offers and worked multiple remote tech jobs while expectations were low and companies were hiring like mad. I remember someone mentioning they had ten jobs and were on track to make a million that year.

How did that work out? Were there professional ramifications? Are you still doing it today?

This is sad because it is in part the reason why remote work is so hard to advocate for.

I jumped on the whole overemployed bandwagon quickly in late 2020, but then after getting my 3rd job, I found myself being burned out every other week from just juggling the responsibilities. I did hold on, because financially, that really set me straight! I got laid off twice, left one company by myself. Now I am an independent contractor for 2 clients, and it feels similar, but with none of the stress. Still funny to think back that in the overemployed discord there where people with 5 or 6 jobs. And some even claiming to have more, its hard to believe, but I am sure that if I kept interviewing and just accepting all the jobs left and right there would really be no limit. The requirement to be hired at a lot of places was just to have a LinkedIn with the right keywords.

I had two jobs for a time, it was great to save a lot of money but then I got burnt out, took a sabbatical break which was super fun then got an offer to get back to one of the jobs making more than with 2 jobs before. Life is much better now.

Because of this whole overemployed bullshit, it is tough to trust remote only people.
