Which companies prefer to hire former Founders?


Throwaway as Im still in the process of handover.

Ive been a founder of a VC backed fintech (payments + financing) startup for the past 5 years. We scaled rev to low 7 figures, processing $xxm of payments annually, though ultimately it was a failure from the investor perspective (who are understanding & supportive). It has a lot of social value as a service and a great team, so we will keep it running, though it wont be able to sustain some salaries (including mine) so Im handing over to a co-founder.

Prior to this startup I was head of Product at a small payments company, engineering background. Im applying for remote roles as a senior/director PM and not seeing much response (0/29 applications). Ive tried tailoring my resume to focus only on product (remove "founder" title etc) and adding relevant buzzwords but don't seem to get through to an initial callback.

I spotted that there are companies that explicitly value founder experience (Eg Supabase) and assume these are probably a good bet. I was wondering does the HN community know of any others?
