Choice of Chair?
Please share your choice of chair you spent your time in. I have had a hard time with my Aeron for a year now and thinking about changing it. But do not not what others are comfortable with. Thank you
Man for what it is worth, I also have had a terrible time with the Aeron. Pretty sure it is giving me sciatica. I don't blame the chair necessarily, seems to work for a lot of people, but the intersection of the chair and my sitting style is maybe a no go? I don't know.
Without knowing what you don't like about the Aeron, how large/small you are and how you sit, etc this is incredibly difficult.
I really like the Steelcase Leap v2 and recently switched to a Herman Miller Embody. The embody is a neat chair, but I kind of wish I went for something else.
I also use a standing desk and a topo mat.
I've just been using an Eames lounge chair for years and it's quite comfortable. At least, I'm slightly reclined rather than constantly hunched over, which is probably the lesser evil.
Not a good choice if you have a heavy reliance on peripherals though.
I have an Aeron but it aggravates my sciatic nerve, so now I use a basic office chair I grabbed out of the waiting area. It doesn't even swivel, but it's comfy enough. Haven't thought much about chairs since.
A standing desk. A motorized one allows you to switch positions quickly, making the chair less critical.
I got a Leap V2 for $50 from Craigslist 5 years ago. It is extremely comfortable (after finding the right adjustments) and is holding up very well
myself, being larger than average, I find most (all?) office chairs uncomfortable after a day of work. What I have found helpful is seat pad, not cheap, from cushion labs. They have 2 models, one for normal people and one for people who weigh over 220. They seem to have sales often. I have one at work and another at home.
What do you not like about your Aeron? I personally use a standing desk with a topo mat. I usually work with socks, no shoes.
Ikea JÄRVFJÄLLET has been good for us.
Humanscale Freedom is good too.
