DIY accounting and taxes with minimal work for solo-founders

What methods, systems and software do you use to do accounting and taxes for your solo-founder (or small team) company, such that you spend a MINIMAL amount of time on it?

If you choose to work with accountants or bookkeepers, how did you find the right one and what do you do yourself VS what they do, and how do you check their work and make sure you spend MINIMAL time on the back and forth?

Bonus points for those who have accrual accounting and LLCs.
