Software Jobs Without Web

What are some companies or industries doing interesting work, that need lots of software engineers, but aren't doing anything directly web related? (Meaning anything that serves up HTML to an end-user)

Automotive, industry - IoT, embedded stuff and machine control. Yet, web technologies are used more and more. Qt, for example, is slowly being replaced by web interfaces. CAN bus is getting replaced by MQTT as microcontrollers are becoming more powerful and regular web servers for integration.

Finally, while there are still places with low web usage, you need to get used to it

I'd venture to say that a lot of machine learning models aren't directly tied to the web.

Or working on OS kernels.

Or doing mobile app development, or non-Electron-type applications.

Companies with an API-first product will have a lot of opportunities to do non-web work.
