How to help?

My to-be in-laws are not doing so good financially, and they could really use some help. They are really nice folks, always grateful for what they have, and I don't remember them ever complaining in the past couple years I've known them.

It hurts to see their sufferings (e.g., their house is in a pretty bad shape) and I badly want to alleviate their condition. The thing is I can't offer any financial help directly–

- even if I offered, I know for a fact they won't take it

- I don't want to hurt their self-esteem

- I don't want them to feel indebted to me

So, I want to keep myself out of their sight as much as possible, while providing the assistance, like somehow from the backend. I guess, I need a frontend. I was wondering about reverse scamming them where they actually get to make some money, making them feel it's their money instead of some "help" money. Do you have any ideas around that? Maybe some social/NGO program?

I'm not very articulate, but hope I'm able to get the point across. Sorry for being verbose.
