What do you think will now happen to Open AI?

I think the majority of talent will move to Microsoft and Microsoft will continue on its current strategy of stuffing better and better models into every product.

I think the Quora CEO will absorb the remainder of OpenAI and continue his own AI strategy around the Poe platform.

I doubt OpenAI will exist except for as a small AI safety research lab with low resources, no compute and a few AI Doomers.

I suspect that they'll just become somewhat irrelevant, after the Microsoft land grab, and AI becomes "just another feature" in products from MAIcrosoft, AIpple, GAIggle, FAIcebook, TwAItter, AIBM and so forth.

The only fun game in town will be "When will baseball officially recognize and regulate AI?"

I'm taking the over on this, at 20 years. So, BAIseball? Hmmmm.

The goalposts were nowhere near where they will one day be widely accepted, and the goalposts were still moving erratically when the BOD dropped the ball.

In the mean time, looks like Microsoft picked up the ball and ran the other way with it, wherever that leads in the end, subject to change without notice.
