Do you trust your manager?

Today, I was let go despite an excellent performance review, just so manager's acquintance, who was laid off somewhere else, could take my place.

The only time I trusted my manager was when he was an honest, hard-working, good guy. Every other one was in it for the money and didn't care about the workers.

Before something happen here that you might regret, I'd contact an employment lawyer. Don't say anything else online about this event. You never know what might be used against you if you and the lawyer decide to pursue things further.

I trust my manager to look out for his own interests.

I do personally, because I've found one I am willing to bet on. I just make sure to remember that not every decision is upto him. Also he will obviously prioritize his career over mine (you would too).

Anyone you meet would fuck you in a second to advance their own interests. Just like you would...and before you say "oh no I'm different I would never sacrifice somebody to benefit myself!" Just remember that you're competing with people who do not hesitate.
