What Anti aging pill was Edward Thorp Taking?


I was reading The Quants by Scott Paterson and there was a section where he talked about how Edward Thorpe was talking anti-aging pills in addition to being a member of Alcor.

"Thorp had been taking a large number of pills every day, as part of his hope that he will live forever"

I really don't think that there is currently a pill that can make you live forever.

But I have been keeping tabs on anti-aging research and know that there is research that supports remedies that slow aging in rats.

Edward Thorpe is currently 91, but looking at him on the Tim Ferris show on YouTube, he looks like he is in his 50's.

What pill may he be taking?

I listened to Thorp's book and his podcast interviews but had never seen his face -- I figured he'd look good for his age given his health but he does look closer to 50!

I always thought he'd look like Bob Einstein (who was 10 years younger but looked many years older)
