What is Australia doing about CLI overstamping / spoofing

For the past three weeks, scammers have been using my Australian phone number to make outbound calls. My phone is ringing nonstop with people saying they received a missed call from my number or asking why I called them. Unfortunately I can't use Silence Unknown Callers, as I need to answer any call from any phone number at any time of day.

I'm sick of it. My mental health is suffering. I've found information about how the US, UK, and France have plans to solve this issue. But I can't find a single piece of information about Australia. ACMA just explains what CLI overstamping is, nothing about what any of the telcos or govt plans to do about it. They say "Contact your telco". What is that going to achieve if the call doesn't even go through their network?

Most of the scam phone calls when I eventually manage to get the number which has called back, (scammers usually hang up on me pretty quickly as I'm a bit deaf and they've only got so much time to fleece people) are numbers that originated with a Travelsim number. Occasionally it's a number from another carrier, possibly spoofed.

Just check and reply to the various reverse number who called me register, most people will check that - so you have a good platform to belly ache about it there, and who your carrier is ...

Nothing, sadly. We plan to do nothing about it. I've been getting these fake calls from spoofed numbers for years now. We gave up on our landline after it became 100% spam 6-10 times a day. Our government is content to pretend technology doesn't exist :(
