Is Apple training their AI on our notes?

Hello all, hope you are having a good week.

I noticed that the latest macOS (and iOS) update has this improved autocorrect (more like autosuggest) which is forecasting the next or next few words while we're typing kinda like Github Copilot.

I find this annoying and buggy as hell. I have the latest top end iPhone and the software crashes twice a week while typing on notes and I think that's ridiculous.

This feature made me have another thought that I care about more though.

Is Apple training their AI with our notes now?

I tried turning this off but couldn't find an intuitive way to do it. I don't even know what they're calling this feature.

If you know something about this I am really interested to know. Thanks!

Software bugs are orthogonal to the price tier of the hardware.

Auto-suggest was always using your text to improve suggestions, whether now with AI or before with ML.

IIRC, I remember reading that this training is local to the machine (or account), and not training some GPT style centralized AI.
