Guidance starting an infosec careeer from scratch

Would love some direction on how to get an infosec (purposefully vague) job with no degree or training(Skills of an advanced "script kiddie"). I don't mind starting from the very bottom, but don't even know where that is, other than going back to school. Are any of the bootcamps available worth it?

Brief background- 36 years old, barely worked since 2020 due to having been the main caregiver for a sick parent that recently passed. Located in SF Bay Area. Formally trained commercial electrician, but hate the work/people. Can survive about two years without any additional income.
