How do I make ChatGPT stop abbreviating and leaving out code?

It's driving me absolutely bonkers.

I need to see the entire code we have been working on and ChatGPT seems relentlessly committed to skipping code when it types it out.

Has anyone got the secret?

Or is there some other AI coding assistant that does not have this problem?
