What was the single best turning point in your life as a programmer?
Everyone has some pivotal moment in their career that propels their career in a positive direction. If you are a programmer or software engineer, what was that pivotal moment that made your skills increase in folds?
Learning C. Never written any serious code in it, but still among most usefull skills to have.
The web. In the 90s I made myself 'the web guy' in the software company I worked for just by getting on it at home and playing with what tools there were.
