That's not augmentation, what we are experiencing is Internet fragmentation plus increasing the level of censorship by changing the actor of one - social networks did not censor its content at all in 2013 or earlier and Google used to almost not censor its search results.

The skill is in gathering torrent trackers, telegram groups, arxiv whitepapers and just being acknowledged about fields on which you are really acknowledged with ever-increasing level of acknowledgeness in the even more ever-increasing world of information.
