How to avoid my IP being banned by Instagram?

Hey folks, I got a very basic question. My gf has a small jackets brands and she was very frustrated as she was spending so much time uploading content to instagram. So I decided to help her out and found a few libraries to automate ig posting and uploading of stories.

So I built a quick script using https://github.com/subzeroid/instagrapi.

The script is nothing fancy (i'm not a good programmer). It just authenticates to ig, fetches the historic post from her ig feed, picks 3 random posts and uploads that to ig stories.

I coudn't be bothered to deploy that anywhere so I'm just running it with a cron-job in my local mac. It was running fine for 2 weeks and now ig is asking me to "Please wait a few minutes before you try again" .

The account recieved a few notifications about instagram suspecting the account was automated.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Should I use a VPN or what is the best practice?

I just can't handle seen her wasting 2 hours a day doing something I can easly automate.
