Generally, if rich enough, they pay somebody to take care of It. A couple of rungs down the ladder in nouveau riche land, people get their super hot tiktoked London pad broken into and that $30,000 piguet watch stolen. If you're having to be visible then there's a better than odds chance opportunistic crime is coming your way, bags going missing in the hotel or your limo car jacked or that walk across Hampstead heath interrupted in a bad way.

It's all relative. Nobody stops for roadside accidents in PNG or South Africa, you speed up. "Rich" is contextual.

Old money tends to swim in deeper waters. Big money pays not to worry. Just rich? Sure. You need to worry, that bling is an invitation. There are reasons people chose not to flaunt it, taste aside.

I'm not rich. I've known, know rich people. They are nice, if different (shipping magnate fortune, nowadays mostly dotcom boom or FAANG wealthy)

There's a Getty kid (now dead) who had an ear partially missing. This isn't a new story. He was insufficiently careful, and his backup plan was late to the party. 1973

If so, I hope these vile parasites continue to live in fear.

I guess so, why wouldn't they? Some worry about leaked assassination coordinates, for example (which in some cases might be even a valid concern).

yes, we do.. of course we do.. why do you ask?

It looks to me that rich celebrities have to spend vast amounts on security. They can't go to the beach; can't go to the supermarket; can't in fact do anything normal.

Some very rich folk I know are discreet with their wealth. If they were show-offs they'd need lots of security, but nobody knows them so nobody tries to take their things or hurt them.

Not particularly. We're more valuable alive, than dead.

Rich does not necessarily = 'famous' or 'ostentatious'. my sister looks like she couldn't rub two cents together. She could probably buy and sell me ten times over.
