What is this website for? (shopping.com)

I ran across a link that bounced today while looking up an unrelated topic and ended up on shopping.com where I was surprised to see the content not being what was expected. It appears to be a site listing items for sale, but then.... nothing? I'm curious what HN's take is on this, or maybe you all know the story behind how the site took its current form.
