Recommendations for developer productivity monitoring tools

Hi HN, I'm seeking recommendations for productivity monitoring tools for developers. I'm looking for:

* Something that can be installed on developer machines directly and optionally managed by Jamf MDM

* Can automatically summarize daily activities (even approximately) in a way that can be cross-check against daily standup reports

* Can accurately differentiate code-writing time, non-code-writing time, and idle time

* Allow realtime check-in of the display (screenshots etc.)

* Per-seat subscription model OK

Thanks!

Up until "non-code-writing time, and idle time", I was assuming you to be an engineering manager who is pursuing this idea out of either malice or ineptitude. But after "realtime check-in of the display", I am now convinced that you must be trolling.

Not bad. If you're genuinely looking for this kind of… software product, I'd be interested which sort of company is being "enhanced" by your presence.

Try googling "bossware"

also, no employees want this level of intrusion, you should learn to trust or fire

There's software that comes with the seat included, which is equipped with a mounted inflatable anal probe to tack and maximize butt-on-seat time. Lubricant is extra.

The probe has an admin interface so you can administer reward/punishment remotely (probe expansion, vibration, etc).
