Does anyone remember HS students that used automation to pass test?

Howdy! Basically, the title. There was a submission maybe about a year or two ago about this kid (and maybe his friend) where they used some sort of automation to pass tests at schools? It turned they had figured out a flaw in the system the school was using and they got a takedown notice or a "scare" from the vendor. At the end, the vendor was cool as long as they took down the repository.

I remember one of them graduated or drop out and moved to the US to work on his startup or something.
