The two events I had in mind are:
1) Grab some hardware electronics stuff and do a drive to local schools and promote hands-on experience with getting electronics to move, detect, blink, talk, etc.
2) Host a public event aimed at bringing art and tech folks together. Working with some artists beforehand to get some tech-enabled art pieces together.
What kind of events would you be interested in attending or hosting?
Encompasses anything from art to software, woodworking, 3D printing & more. Also fun for ppl who aren't into the "making" part, but enjoy playing with hands-on / interactive exhibits, asking creators how they did it, or get new inspiration.
This mixes nicely with workshops, small contests (eg. a powertool race, where old powertools / motors ripped from various junk, are repurposed to race each other), or other educational / fun stuff.
